Related: About this forumBeer Cornbread
Made this last night. Kinda like Irish soda bread.
We liked it.
Beer Cornbread
1 9-inch loaf
(I used the iron skillet, like always.)
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup cornmeal
1 tsp baking powder
1 Tbsp honey
1 (12oz) bottle or can of beer.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9-inch loaf pan.
Mix together all ingredients just until combined. Pour into loaf pan.
Bake 40-50 minutes, until golden brown.

(34,135 posts)1. What size skillet do you use?
I've got a big, probably 10" iron skillet, and a smaller, maybe 6-8" one. Which would this fit in?
The recipe sounds great!

(51,907 posts)2. Presumably you want a malty rather than a hoppy beer
Like stout or porter--NOT IPA.
