I loaded up at the farmers market today. Only two weeks left for the season.
3 pints of little tomatoes
a dozen larger tomatoes
fresh basil (last of the season)
strawberries (variety Seascape)
kale
beets
sweet corn
two kinds of sweet red peppers
apples: pink pearl, crisp crimson, ginger gold, newton pippin, spitzenberg
bartlett pears
green onions and radishes
assorted fingerling potatoes
will be so sorry when the market is over for the year

Take one cheap, tough as leather hunk of meat, and one can beef broth, one can condensed tomato soup, and put in crock pot on low for 8+ hours, then serve over noodles.

(9,819 posts)mixed greens (turnip greens, kale, mustard greens - sauteed in garlic, cumin, olive oil), lightly dressed red/gold cherry tomatoes. Lots of it came from the Mennonite farmers' market and we had lots of leftovers to eat during the week. Yum, yum. Next year, we hope to have all of this from our own garden. Good goal!

(13,098 posts)String beans and cornbread. Got the pork roast recipe from Lidias kitchen. Slightly modified it leaving out the wine and substituted bayleaf for rosemy. Yum.
