Cooking & Baking
Related: About this forumAh, I found a place for pizza in my food day.
Have never been a big fan of pizza. Had plenty of thin crust arrangements in New England, some very creative and tasty. Never saw it as a meal, though.
So I've been rummaging around for a late afternoon bite. I'm usually up at 5 AM or so, eat dinner early. Not a 6 PM dinner guy, unless I'm with guests or out and about. But at home that's when I look for something between my early dinner and some bedtime / movie snack.
Duh. It's pizza! A place downtown serves slices. They make some good pies. Inexpensive and a nice walk. 2 slices fill the bill.

(146,218 posts)They make a super thin crispy one that I don't think I have ever had in the states. It is usually very misshapen and is served without being cut at all. You can either cut or tear off pieces. The main choices are white or red (no or yes to tomato sauce) and the toppers seems endless.
My big challenge right now is learning to make them. My last one was a teeny bit better, but I think I am trying to get too fancy. I'm going to try something super simple this week.
Glad you found a new love. Enjoy!

(4,473 posts)I'm really not that fond of deep dish pizza. I prefer thin crust.
Indeed, I think I shall get some fresh basil, and make a pizza margharita for tomorrow (a proper crust should rise in the fridge overnight).
