1. Steak or Pizza

the steak is thawed, but Gram is running a fever and being sickly. If she improves, I'll have time/energy to cook. If not.. pizza.

15. She's a little to sick for wings

and it'll be pizza for the rest of us. Or cafeteria hospital food if I don't see some improvement soon

2. Black bean soup and poblano/onion quesadillas.

It's cold here today... well, not cold like other people have cold, but cold for us.

21. I love black bean soup!

The Goya website has a chipotle black bean soup recipe that's to die for.

12. I live in Marin County, CA.

There's a new butcher shop that opened here. They have an informal restaurant as well, and they sell organic hormone-free heritage breeds of goat, chicken, pork, beef, lamb, duck, turkey, rabbit, and other kinds of meat. They have a website HERE. I hope they stay in business!

13. I will be traveling through SF this spring and may check this out.

Looks like they are building their website and hope to expand.

8. Japanese noodle soup

This will be a first for me. Found and interesting recipe online. I don't have ramen noodles but I'll use the Udon noodles i have. Wish me luck!

I have some miso languishing in the fridge--I'll be making that later this week!

20. Only downside was

By the time I assembled the soup, it got cold. So I had to pop the bowl in the microwave. It was pretty darn tasty though.

19. from one of my Louisiana granddaughters

She's having fun cooking and being from NOLA likes lots of spice:

Ground turkey, browned in skillet in 2 T coconut oil
Red and black pepper
Tony Chacheres' creole seasoning
Italian spices
Sharp cheddar, mozarella, parmesan, grated

Add cooked quinoa and saute.
