Introducing Discussionist: A new forum by the creators of DU

A tip to try to avoid the nightly cocktail hour -

focus on some other activity you would enjoy doing later on in the evening.

If you're like me, about mid afternoon you start looking forward to the cocktail hour. To try to get over this line of thinking you have to re-train your thoughts and make a mental leap forward over the martini time to something enjoyable later in the evening, say about 9 PM.

It might be a new book you're looking forward to reading or maybe milk and your favorite cookies or an On Demand movie you've been wanting to see - anything that will divert attention from the cocktail hour to later in the night.
