There are ads all over the place for this product. It's supposed to be a wonder drug for your mind that makes you more alert and sharp. It also improves memory function. Especially good for older people.
My guess is it's a scam but I don't know that for sure.

(23,156 posts)one of those many unregulated supplements out there.
Here's a link to a pretty thorough review of the claims the makers of that stuff are making: http://www.highya.com/cogniflex-reviews
It's probably a good idea to repeat "If it sounds too good to be true it probably is" anytime you see some new product claiming to be the latest miracle cure for something.

Thanks for the info.
If anyone has actually tried this stuff please pile on.

(6,800 posts)I've noticed that, with these supplement scams, that the first page in a Google search will be all affiliate sites that give a "review" and get a commission if you eventually buy the stuff. BTW, these brain supplements are all a complete rip-off.

(111,140 posts)They did most of the legwork for you. Bottom line: while there might be one or two ingredients that can aid narrow definitions of brain function in some people, that's just too many weasel words.
You're better off paying through the nose for actual pharmaceutical drugs that do improve cognitive function across the board in all individuals with dementia who can tolerate the drug. No weasel words there.

(4,667 posts)Some that i would plug into PubMed.gov to learn more about
Acetyl-l-carnitine, choline, citicoline, alpha lipoic acid, huperzine, DMAE, resveratrol, curcumin, quercetin.
Thats a good start.
Source naturals has a product called mental Edge that combines a bunch of them. Its not too expensive. The ingredients are not so super expensive so you can get a good stack of supplements for not a super lot of money. I would suggest buying the ones like ALC that mix readily with juice in powder form, bulk, and adding them to juice.
