Read George Takeis Brilliant Response To Trumps Locker Room Banter Excuse
By Natalie Dickinson
Star Trek legend and LGBT activist George Takei took to Twitter today to slam Donald Trump over his deplorable grab her by the p*ssy remark. Trump tried to explain it away by saying it was just locker room banter, but Takei called it out for what it is the expression of toxic masculinity and American rape culture.

When Trump says it's just "locker room talk," he's defending the very culture that normalizes sexual assaults on women.

This is not locker room banter. This is not idle tomfoolery or male camaraderie. Donald J. Trump is the living expression of rape culture and white privilege rolled into one. His sense of entitlement is so outrageous he feels that its acceptable for him to force himself upon women, that women are objects devoid of feelings or agency that he is free to use for his own pleasure when he pleases.
He speaks of just kissing her
I dont even wait, giving the woman no option to consent or else pressuring her until she gives in. Joking about sexual assault normalizes it and desensitizes us to horrible, traumatic crimes that occur in the United States every 109 seconds. Donald Trump is a sexual predator that cannot be allowed anywhere near the Oval Office.

(16,646 posts)I'm not saying that I've been in more than most or anything, and let's acknowledge that he wasn't actually in a "locker room". But if we accept that we are referencing single gendered settings where men felt "comfortable" speaking in crass terms, I've heard a lot of crass talk. Yes, it's crass and the vast majority is indefensible. None the less, if anyone even began to talk about "forcing" themselves upon women, they'd get no small amount of crap from the vast majority of "men". And really, since I got somewhere north of 25, THAT kind of talk is well in the past. It isn't long before it boils down to talk of 1) complaining about wives or 2) fantasy about younger women that won't ever come true. No one talks about striking out while trying to force themselves on women. And no one "brags" about forcing themselves upon them. If anything, the bragging is about some how they have no need. It will involve discussion of something about having to "beat them off with a stick" that no one else believes.
To say he is a pig understates it. He's actually dangerous, a bit like Mr. Cosby.

(16,646 posts)It's not just women, and it's not just sexual assault. He sees the world as a bunch of suckers to be fleeced in any way possible for his gain. He measures "greatness" in terms of how much one fleeces the suckers. He's out fleecing the voters, just as he's seen himself fleecing the government when he declares bankruptcy and gets tax breaks and government incentives. If he were elected, he'd conduct foreign policy by seeing how many "suckers" he could fleece through trade and by military means. Every voter that votes for him will be seen as one more sucker he fleeced out of his vote.
