(24,331 posts)1. Wow. I should say so.
600 hours of community service versus 5-10 years in prison? Hell.

(8,462 posts)2. Or deportation, too?
TheWraith
(24,331 posts)3. I haven't seen anything about deportation.
Actually, I hadn't realized it was a possibility until you mentioned it and I did a Google search. Still, nothing apparently new there.
MNBrewer
(8,462 posts)4. He's not a citizen, so deportation is a possibility.
Prosecutorial assistance in fighting deportation was part of the plea agreement offered to him.

(56,177 posts)7. I saw that in the first article I read about this...
Made it seem that was more likely than jail time.

(55,144 posts)5. No matter what he gets the prick is going to get off easy.

(22,057 posts)6. He gets to continue to live-and he turned down a plea bargain that any rational person
would have jumped at. You live with the result of the decisions you make.

(56,177 posts)8. I just read what they offered him...THE IDIOT!
That was an incredibly generous offer...really makes me sure he was guided by hate since he didn't take it because he was obviously so convinced of this innocence.
Rowdyboy
(22,057 posts)9. It boggles the mind....And he'll have 5-10 years to ponder it....
I would happily have done 6000 hours of community service to avoid a month in prison.
To each his own.
