Performer known as 'Drag King' attacked in Olympia

Just after midnight, Hadway, a “drag king” known as “Parker Perry,” was loading up her gear after a benefit show at the Fourth Avenue Tavern. After a transgendered friend was heckled and Hadway’s own wife, Angela, was threatened, Hadway stepped in.

Hadway recalled saying, “I was like ‘hey can we just leave this alone?’"

She then told a man approaching her that she was a woman dressed like a man.

“The guy said you look like a man so I’m going to fight you like a man. So he walked up and blasted me twice in the left side of my face,” Hadway said.

Olympia Police spokesman Lt. Paul Lower told KOMO the case does not appear to be a hate crime. He said that when police arrived at the downtown Olympia parking lot where the fight occurred there were no suspects. Lower said detectives spoke with a woman at a nearby hospital who had a broken tooth.

I went to a map expecting this to be in Eastern Washington but no, it is below Seattle.
Very odd. The bigots must love that area with all of the tech workers and engineers (two industries with the most out transsexuals).
