People from Israel to the U.S., and everywhere in between, remember the victims of the Holocaust on April 19. The remembrance day marks the day of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camps 67 years ago.
Excellent documentary on PBS last night about Vrba and Wetzler: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rudolf_Vrba

(90,061 posts)Such people are everywhere. Pissed me off last night watching that show, just thinking about what we must have lost in the ovens.
The pictures were nice too.

(3,584 posts)WE REMEMBER THE 6 MILLION JEWS AND MILLIONS OF OTHER INNOCENT SOULS WHO PERISHED IN THE HOLOCAUST.
WE CELEBRATE AND APPRECIATE ALL THOSE WHO SURVIVED, INCLUDING MANY OF OUR MEMBERS.
WE COMMIT TO FIGHTING GENOCIDE AND HATRED WHEREVER IT STILL EXISTS IN OUR WORLD.
WE GIVE THANKS TO GOD FOR THE SURVIVAL AND FLOURISHING OF THE JEWISH COMMUNITY IN AMERICA, ISRAEL AND WORLDWIDE.
זיכרונם לברכה
MAY THEIR MEMORY BE FOR A BLESSING.
