Florida legislature votes in favour of one-state solution

http://www.myfloridahouse.gov/Sections/Documents/loaddoc.aspx?FileName=_s1396__.DOCX&DocumentType=Bill&BillNumber=1396&Session=2012

That the members of the Senate commend Israel for its cordial and mutually beneficial relationship with the United States and with the State of Florida and support Israel in its legal, historical, moral, and God-given right of self-governance and self-defense upon the entirety of its own lands, recognizing that Israel is neither an attacking force nor an occupier of the lands of others, and that peace can be afforded the region only through a whole and united Israel governed under one law for all people.

"A resolution calling for a one-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been adopted in two state legislatures and is headed for more.

Usually, such a call would be interpreted as a pro-Palestinian move that many fear could obliterate Israel as a Jewish state. But not in these cases. Instead, these resolutions are protests against U.S. efforts to implement a two-state solution, the endorsed policy of both the United States, Israel and the Palestinian Authority."

You can pass on your congratulations to Senator Hays here:-

2. too funny but for all the whereas's

it isn't all too specific about what happens with the Palestinians who currently live there albeit does say that G-d specifically gave the land to the Jews in what it calls the 'oldest lease' or some such

3. Ridiculous

Really this is the typical stoking of the paranoia and fear of the elderly living in Florida. Those that pushed this sort of thing should be ashamed that they are trying to influence politics with this kind of fear-smog.

4. Fortunately, I doubt that the Florida legislature has much jurisdiction in Israel

Don't they have enough problems in their own state, without directing their attention at, well, by implication denouncing Likud for being too left-wing?

6. Since we're now acting in tandem...

...I'd have to say that I agree with you about Sen. Hayes being a clod.
