M.J. Rosenberg's Critique of BDS Movement

Left-liberal commentator M.J. Rosenberg is generally such a harsh critic of Israel and the American Jewish community that it may seem difficult to grasp that he actually is a Zionist -- a progressive Zionist like ourselves, but more acerbic and combative in many of his pronouncements than we generally are. The following is his review of The Battle For Justice In Palestine by Ali Abunimah, executive director of the Electronic Intifada, which he posted at Amazon.com:

I give the book four stars for its honesty (certainly not for its turgid writing). And certainly not because I agree with it. I absolutely do not.

But the book is valuable and I recommend purchasing it because it definitively demonstrates that the goal of the BDS (the movement to Boycott, Divest from, and Sanction Israel) is to eliminate the State of Israel, utterly and completely.

No, the author (one of the pioneers of the BDS movement) does not favor driving Israel into the sea. He is not, by any means, advocating genocide.

His goal, honestly stated, is the dismantling of the State of Israel, all its laws and institutions, and replacing it with a Palestinian state in which Jews would have minority rights....

62. Dunce Alert: MJ Rosenberg tweeting Israel sets up bloggers like Silverstein

“Richard Silverstein’s story on Israel’s war plans may be wrong which only means the Israeli gov’t lies and deceives even at the blogger level”

Can anyone say 'Israel Derangement Syndrome'?

10. Now that you mention Mondoweiss, meet their newest contributor (MJ Rosenberg)

Why I am using ‘Israel firster’ again
http://mondoweiss.net/2012/06/why-i-am-using-israel-firster-again.html

The reason Israel Firster became so explosive in 2012 is because (1) this is the year the lobby wants the United States to either attack Iran or allow Israel to do it and (2) this is the year in which tens of millions of dollars of unregulated campaign contributions are flowing to the Republican candidate for president simply because the single-issue crowd believes that Mitt Romney is the candidate most likely to fit comfortably in Netanyahu’s pocket.

A perfect example of how irrational hate leads to stupidity.

Seems MJ has fallen off the deep end since his dismissal from Media Matters.

5. MJ Rosenberg Orders Obama to "Stop Pandering to the Jews"

MJ Rosenberg, competing with Gilad Atzmon for Most Self Hating Jew EVER, seethes and moans:

Someone at the White House just doesn’t “get” American Jews. Take a look at this, one of the many postings from the White House site (they are also emailed) that address us as if we just arrived from Poland or Russia.

Does the Obama team really think Jewish voters (or even those all-important and self-important big donors) are impressed by White House Passover recipes? Does anyone actually turn to the White House for help in preparing matzo ball soup?

Of course not. This is just the Obama administration pandering to a group of voters that it has decided is different from all other groups of voters.

The most ridiculous (and insulting) White House pander came at Hanukkah. This article from the New York Times about how the White House was made kosher for one event has to be read to be believed. Here is an excerpt, enough to cause James Madison to commit suicide if he wasn’t dead.

Read more at MJ Rosenberg's blog, where he freaks out over religious Jews TAKING OVER the Obama White House and "they're not even going to vote for him anyway." Who else said "F* the Jews, they're not voting for us anyway." James Baker, a prominent Republican in the Bush administration.

Why is it "insulting" and "ridiculous" to serve kosher food at a White House event on a Jewish holiday? Oh: because MJ wasn't the guest of honor, we suppose.

Is this really MJ's blog or a spoof blog? Because if it's really his, he is even more of a freaking lame dweeb than anyone could possibly imagine.

It means a lot when these Israel bashers acknowledge that BDS is straight up antisemitism.
