Russell Tribunal conclusion: U.S. facilitates Israeli immunity and impunity

Russell Tribunal conclusion: U.S. facilitates Israeli immunity and impunity

After two long days of expert testimony, the Russell Tribunal on Palestine wrapped up Sunday night (see Ethan Heitner's reports and sketches of the days). Then yesterday, the tribunal’s jury presented its findings to a United Nations committee--findings that Israel “has achieved a status of immunity and impunity by complete disregard for the norms and standards of international law facilitated by the US.”

The executive summary of these findings has now been published.

3. A Kangaroo court (cult) of clowns and fools....

And Frank Barat coordinated?

He's the dumbass who was humiliated on camera by Norman Finkelstein WRT the anti-zionist movement being a cult.

He's the same tool (and warmonger) who, when asked how a 1-state solution would be implemented, said hundreds of thousands would have to die in order for it to be realized.

The topic is a self licking ice cream cone of a "report" done by a kangaroo court calling itself a tribunal.

7. So a self appointed group with no standing and an obvious agenda going in produces a report

and sends it to the UN. So what?

The Goldstone report was DOA, this one probably is in the public trash can in the parking garage at this time.

23. A better bullseye 4U would be Hamas investigating itself...

...for war crimes (during the Gaza war) and coming up with nothing.

Same goes for the Tribunal, as their minds were made up in advance.

========

OTOH, Israel investigated itself and did so well that Richard Goldstone repudiated his own report.

You need to try again.

30. John Dugard makes excuses for terror vs. Jews. Compares Hamas....

...to liberators of Europe under German occupation (Israelis are now doing the Nazi occupation of Palestine)
http://www.boston.com/news/world/articles/2008/02/27/un_report_calls_palestinian_terrorism_result_of_occupation/?camp=pm

It's nice for Hamas to know that what they do is "understood" and that they have a "right" to target and murder Jews.

======

Now at this point, you see that the Tribunal is a joke, and a very nasty one at that.

This is where you say you now have a problem with it.

Just saying...

32. You're wasting you're time.

You could demolish the credibility of each of the jurors and it wouldn't matter. The fact that your interlocutor gives even a moment's credence to the Russell Tribunal suggests a logical and moral gap between the two of you that is unbridgeable.

35. um demolishing the credibility of jurors?

I suspect that the only people for whom credibility is being demolished are the ones who felt these people had no credibility in the first place

Ronnie Kasrils -dismissed as self hating

John Dugard- antisemitic works for the UN

Roger Waters- probably antisemitic and/or 'Hollyweird' latte librul-even though he's British

not that I agree with these summations but there you have it unless your going for the crowd that knows nothing about these people or the conflict itself

now that said there was a problem with Russell Tribunal as was outlined in +972 and it was the lack of Palestinians as either speakers or jurors

that the "tribunal" has zero credibility, comparing it to when the IDF investigates itself and subsequently finds itself innocent.

Hey, even Glenn Greenwald sees Angry Arab as a reliable source.

17. actually Waters has been involved in I/P politics for quite some time

Diplomatic mission: Roger Waters show

The Israeli Embassy staff in Athens must have been quite surprised upon receiving the following order from Jerusalem: Send a representative to the Roger Waters concert immediately.

Recently, the Foreign Ministry received reports that the former Pink Floyd front man's concert, "The Wall," which is being performed in Athens these days, is filled with clear anti-Israel and anti-Semitic messages.

The reports joined claims made by the Anti-Defamation League that video clips aired during the concert show Jewish Stars of David attached to dollar signs, planes dropping bombs in the shape of Stars of David and pictures of Israeli soldiers and suffering Palestinians.

Former Congresswoman and staunch supporter of the late Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi, Cynthia McKinney was in La Mirada today speaking at an event organized by Arab Americans 4 Syria, a Los Angeles-based group of Assad loyalists. It's no surprise that McKinney is now supporting the Assad regime after her shameful appearance on Libyan state TV defending Gaddafi as a hero in May of 2011.

McKinney, of course, is a member of the Russell Tribunal.
