Move is a reaction to a number of news clippings and stories with headlines that seemed to paint Palestinian terrorists in a more sympathetic light.
The Israeli government official responsible for accrediting foreign journalists said on Wednesday that he will consider revoking press credentials for media members who are derelict in doing their jobs and write headlines that are the opposite of what happened.
Nitzan Chen, the head of the Government Press Office, wrote an angry post on his Facebook page on Wednesday in reaction to a number of news clippings and stories with headlines that seemed to paint Palestinian terrorists in a more sympathetic light.
Western news agencies wrote stories about Wednesdays attack in Jerusalem, where three armed Palestinians killed a Border Policewoman and wounded two others.
The Foreign Ministry moved swiftly on Wednesday to change what it termed a horrible headline the American CBS news outlet put on its story about the terrorist attack at Jerusalems Damascus Gate.

The FINAL headline:
Palestinians kill Israeli officer, wound another before being killed.
which is a hellava lot different than:
"3 Palestinians killed as daily violence grinds on.
The bias is there for everyone to see, even if you can't.

You are obviously operating from a center of hate and fear, and I am unqualified to help you with your issues.
News organizations create 1000s of headlines every month and a pattern of antisemitism or "pro-terrorism" would be much more obvious.
It's painfully obvious that you are the one with the bias. I'm leaving you the last word. I always feel dirty after I pass through these hateful forums, and I need to shower now.

(6,171 posts)Read that paragraph carefully, and try to imagine what kind of picture it conveys. Actually, the three armed palestinians were killed, but according to the Foreign Ministry, that's such an insignificant detail that it shouldn't even be mentioned. Isn't that at least a little bit biased?

(6,171 posts)I approve of this, as I think it's an important aspect of journalistic impartiality. I don't approve of Israel trying to stifle the freedom of the press as if it was Russia.
