Julian Edelman teams with ‘Celebrate Israel’
Patriots receiver Julian Edelman greeted fans at Sunday’s “Celebrate Israel” event, a festival in Waltham focused on Israeli music, art, dance, and food. (The gathering at Gann Academy was organized by Combined Jewish Philanthropies and Israeli American Council.) Edelman, one of the few Jewish players in the National Football League, was joined by Tamir Goodman, the American-born Israeli basketball player dubbed “the Jewish Jordan” by Sports Illustrated, singer Neshama Carlebach, and Israeli children’s entertainer Dod Haim. Edelman, who’s been enjoying a busy offseason as Super Bowl champ, can be glimpsed in the “Entourage” movie opening Wednesday. He also announced on the stage Sunday that he’s traveling to Israel this summer.
