House Republican accidentally tells truth about Solyndra investigation

By David Roberts

You may recall that that other day, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee held the four-gazillionth hearing on Solyndra and the DOE’s clean-energy loan-guarantee program, during which lawmakers spent their time repeatedly badgering DOE Secretary Steven Chu to give himself a letter grade. Yes, really.

At this point, everyone knows that there’s not going to be any wrongdoing uncovered. After over a year of investigations, many thousands of pages of documents, testimony from dozens of people, a half-dozen hearing, there’s … nothing.

The investigation has long since become about hurting Obama’s election chances and discrediting clean energy. It’s a political disagreement masquerading as a show trial.

I'll save the best for the guy's website hits...worth a read to see the cynical truth about what we already know is driving these "investigations"

1. Yes, it is something we all know.

This still plays to their base in their electoral districts, however. Here is a sample of what it looks like here on DU:

I've taken on the real anti-nuke and renewable powerhouses. We're beating back
the ones at DOE. Thanks to the Solyndra scandal we got DOE's chief "greenie"
Jonathan Silver to resign. If the Congress keeps the pressure on, then we have
a shot at clearing out the "renewables rats" that have infested DOE.

If we can clear them out, we can shutdown the subsidies to the so-called "greenie"
"solutions". We won't be wasting any more of the taxpayers money on "greenie"
solutions that are going nowhere.

If we can kill their subsidies for a year or two, they'll die on the vine.
