'50-year rainfall event' displaces Anchorage apartment building tenants
More than 2 inches of rain fell in some parts of Anchorage in less than 12 hours Saturday night and Sunday morning, an unusual event that left some parts of town flooded and residents displaced.

Study: Beaufort, Chukchi and Bering waves are getting bigger
Since the 1970s, waves in the Arctic Ocean and Bering Sea have grown higher and are spaced farther apart. The changes correlate with the loss of summer and fall sea ice and the expansion of open waters, the study found.
