Way back before I was even 15 because of how bad the world was. And every day I am glad for that decision. I do wish I had children in my life but I know I made the right decision.

I would have adopted if I was ever financially able and had the time. But when I had money, I had no time. When I had time, I had no money

but you can't make your son's mind up for him.

If you did, he'd resent you for the rest of his life.

It is not your decision and you could alienate your son by continuing to discourage his dream.

People said the same thing in the 1970s. They probably said the same thing in the 1870s. No one can see into the future.

BTW, we are welcoming a grandchild into the world this year and have no fear for her future.
