The South Texas new reactor project is dead. Exelon has withdrawn its application for an early site permit for the proposed plant. Exelon stated that new reactors are “uneconomical now and for the foreseeable future.” Exelon had already withdrawn its Combined Operating License request. "Today's withdrawal brings an end to all project activity," Exelon said. The company had planned two reactors in Victoria, TX.
