Delivery for a towering project at Fire Island

Workers from Carlile and North Star Stevedoring unloaded towers section from the cargo ship Muntgracht on Thursday for the Cook Inlet Region Inc., Fire Island wind farm. The Tetra Tech company is using three ships to transport 11 wind turbines from Tianchang, China to the Port of Anchorage. The Fire Island wind farm is the first commercial-scale wind project in Alaska and will have 33 wind turbines when the three-year undertaking is complete.
