1. I habve a young neice who has been a teacher for 6 years now.
She went into it with great love and passion for the work. Six years later she's desperately looking for a way out. It's not the students. She loves her students. It's the school administration that's driving her insane.
...all of this. And it's the part of the story that is being missed by the general public.
I taught for 25 years. I worked with new teachers, student teachers and dedicated colleagues. My daughter became a teacher and left because of the lack of support. Leaving is rarely about the students...or the parents...or the community. It's the politics that influences EVERYTHING and undermines what good teachers do every day AND the goals they strive to reach for their students.
