Silica Exposure Petition #ItsNotJustDust

OSHA has put together a proposal that will reduce silica exposures for workers, but itís at a standstill in the White House. This petition (wh.gov/E3Ta) requests an action plan to protect workers from on-the-job silica exposure.

Please help us spread the world about this petition and use the hashtag #ItsNotJustDust when sharing on Twitter. The petition is below:

Protect American workers from exposure to silica on the job:

For about 100 years workers have been dying from exposure to silica on the job. Silica can cause both lung disease (silicosis) and cancer. The government has been talking about regulating exposures ever since the 1940s and sponsored a campaign to prevent silicosis in the 1990s. OSHA has drafted a proposal to reduce silica exposures in the workplace but it has been sitting at the White House OMB for almost 2 years! It is about time to move forward and promulgate a silica standard to protect American workers. Please sign this petition if you want to see action. wh.gov/E3Ta https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/protect-american-workers-exposure-silica-job/TZ0flRc4?utm_source=wh.gov&utm_medium=shorturl&utm_campaign=shorturl
