3. It really has been going down the shitter for some time now, hasn't it?

We've become greedy, selfish, scared, paranoid, hateful.....

Watching and listening to Trump reminds me of Hitler on the rise. I don't think even Hitler had the monstrous ego and megalomania that Trump has.

7. Unbelievable to me

That someone who says and does the things he does gets so much attention. The MSM would sell us into slavery if it helps their ratings. All of these things should have disqualified him from ever running for president.

But's what really scary to me is the cheerful following from the authoritarian crowd that he gets. These people have been emboldened by him. See the beating of a black man at one of his speeches and the shooting of BLM folks, though we can't connect the latter to his followers, it's part of the general atmosphere he and the right wing media are encouraging.

2. Income inequality makes rich Americans stingier, study finds
Mon Nov 23, 2015, 08:48 PM
Nov 2015

What's behind the findings? The authors say concentrating wealth in the hands of a few may lead to "the belief that one is more important and deserving than others." That sense of entitlement may make the rich less altruistic and lead them to "believe that resources rightly belong to them."

The findings are consistent with unpublished research that shows cuts to social welfare programs, such as unemployment insurance, followed increases in inequality at the state level, says Lyle Scruggs, a political scientist at the University of Connecticut. "If the people in charge are even richer, are they less likely to care about those less fortunate, and therefore be less generous, as a mindset?" he said.

4. Monday was a horrible day--Tues and Weds won't be much better
Tue Nov 24, 2015, 06:12 AM
Nov 2015

First there was adjusting to wearing two layers, when i used only a hoodie on Thursday...and boots! Then there's getting the Kid to dress appropriately...

And the schedule. And the traffic! Everyone's driving because walking, biking and buses are no longer alternatives.

I was so exhausted, just crashed in bed before Tansy got the thread up. And can't spend much of the pre-dawn on this because I have to split early...

Happy Tuesday somewhere!

5. Yeah, Sunday night reminded me why I'm disabled.
Tue Nov 24, 2015, 07:13 AM
Nov 2015

Got home from work about 8, from delivering pizzas for a couple of hours. A cold front was moving through about then. By midnight, my back and shoulders were killing me, and one knee was twice it's normal size. The pain was so bad from the knee, I had tears in my eyes. I took some anti-inflammatory medicine, and was good enough to go to sleep by dawn. I was in bed by 8 last night.

When I was still living in Cleveland, it was like that most of the time from October til March. It's a Siberian 51 out there this morning. But, we'll be back in the 80's by Thurs.

9. I've heard that the best way to take the anti-inflammatory stuff is BEFORE you do things
Tue Nov 24, 2015, 02:03 PM
Nov 2015

That way inflammation doesn't get to build up. So I've been taking a dose of aspirin every morning (when I remember or have time) and it does seem to be better, because I hate myself on the day I skip...

8. Well despite the very cold rain
Tue Nov 24, 2015, 10:56 AM
Nov 2015

I rode my bike yesterday. Good choice because there was an accident that had traffic backed up the better part of a mile on the way home and I was able to breeze on by. Still, experience tells me this is the most dangerous time of year to be biking, with it pitch black during commuting hours, the holidays, which seen to distract drivers more than normal and the usual rain here in Portland.
