edited to credit the original source, which I had misread before posting this.
I don't dare post this out in GD land. Wonder what the likelihood of this is? Certainly something is up...
Whether this story is real or nor is unknown: to be sure, there is nothing the News Corp-owned media outlet would enjoy more than sowing even more discord within the top echelon of the democrat party just as Hillary is reeling from the clintonemail.com scandal, and is on the verge of announcing her candidacy for president. Still, the Post's Edward Klein does provide some circumstantial evidence pointing that there may be more here than meets the skeptical eye....
but...WHY?
...So who does Obama prefer to have as his successor? Well, all signs point to Elizabeth Warren. With Obamas approval, this source continued, Valerie has been holding secret meetings with Martin OMalley [the former Democratic governor of Maryland] and [Massachusetts Sen.] Elizabeth Warren. Shes promised OMalley and Warren the full support of the White House if they will challenge Hillary for the presidential nomination.

(45,251 posts)that Obama wants Warren, rather than that Obama wants a real primary and not a coronation? Why not at least conclude that he is for either O'Malley or Warren?
Media is so biased! At the Firefighters' Convention, both Warren and Sanders got a lot of applause. But, print media reported that only as to Warren.

The American Thinker is a right wing rag - pretty toxic a year or so ago when I read it. I wouldn't trust it as a source for anything real.

I wouldn't take anything at face value printed in the Rupert Post. Not even the weather.

(23,664 posts)Or it could be a case of what goes around comes around, a bit of gotcha for all the little sneaky Clinton jabs at Obama over the years.
My admiration of Obama would go way up if this were the case.

(2,161 posts)Ed Klein has made a good living peddling tales of a blood feud between the Clintons and Obamas -- but no one else confirms these fairy tales.
Obama seems to be on the 'It's Hillary's Turn' bandwagon with the rest of the Democratic leadership. I remember the joint interview he did with Hillary as she was leaving the SOS office -- it was cringeworthy the way he was fawning over her.
IF the Obama White House was encouraging Warren to run, I believe she would be stepping up to answer the call. Tough to say no to the President.
Seems like a fantasy story from beginning to end.

(33,120 posts)Aside from the hysteronic NY Post headline.
Maybe Pres. Obama would like to see a primary. I certainly would.
Maybe it has something to do with Clinton's recent adoption of Larry Summers.
After all that's transpired in the economy over the last six years, the WH feels Warren has a better direction.
All speculation. It's a shame our National Discourse has degraded to a point where We receive our news via innuendo.
