I'm not allowed to steer the train

The whistle I can't blow
I'm not allowed to say how far
The railroad cars can go.
I'm not allowed to toot the horn
Or even ring the bell
But let the d-----d thing jump the track
Then see who catches h--l.



This was in calligraphy on a poster my dad saved from 1942. Apparently without email forwarding, or even xeroxing, stuff like this was disseminated somehow. The naughty words, of course, were typically edited out.
