Cuba Inaugurates Direct Air Link with China

Havana, Dec 28 (Prensa Latina) The direct air link between China and the Caribbean today is a reality after the arrival of the first flight of Air China to this capital.
The chairman of the Institute of Civil Aeronautics of Cuba, Alfredo Cordero, said that on Sunday evening began three weekly trips between Beijing and Havana.

He added that in the aircraft of Air China, which is capable of carrying about 300 passengers, will arrive monthly to the island about 3,500 people from the Asian nation.

The Chinese ambassador to Cuba Zhang Tuo, praised the joint efforts of both sides and noted that on this date the two nations celebrate 55 years of diplomatic relations.

1. Chinese acquaintances over the years always told me how fascinating they found Latin America.

Whereas their country, they said, is rather structured and homogeneous; Latin America is a true potpourri of all the world's continents, plus a good dash of unpredictability (as well as some danger). That can certainly be said of Cuba - except for the dangers, as there's reportedly almost none. ¡A gozar!

I have enjoyed the posts from people from other countries who've been to Cuba for maybe 16 years on the internet[font size=5]S.[/font]
Remember hearing from a Canadian poster years ago that people like her dreaded the time the Americans would invade and start trying to turn it into the U.S. They all have loved it exactly as it is, like you.
