Venezuelan Doctors Fear Country Faces Health Emergency.

http://www.hispanicallyspeakingnews.com/latino-daily-news/details/venezuelan-doctors-fear-country-faces-health-emergency/26601/

The president of the Venezuelan Medical Association asked the Venezuelan government Tuesday to declare a health emergency and take steps to address serious problems with the Andean nation’s healthcare system.

“We demand…a healthcare emergency be declared here in Venezuela,” Dr. Douglas Leon said during a press conference in Caracas.

Leon added to that request the “urgent” funding of hospitals, the reparation of infrastructures, the equipping of facilities, together with a “fair salary” for medical professionals.

Upwards of 90 percent of Venezuela’s hospitals have already exhausted their 2013 budgets, he said.

“We have very critical situations in all the hospitals,” he said.

I wouldn't be too surprised if this ends in a health worker system strike to put pressure on the government, a repressive campaign and moves to bring Cubans to man the barricades. I got the sense Maduro is a Cuban puppet and he's not interested in any sort of arrangement with the labor force..,.he is being mentored by Cubans who are used to having a slave population, broken down by fear, and they are unlikely to be too sensitive about labor force unrest.

This is why the proletariate should always avoid supporting communists, when they hold power the upper party cadres become the owner class, or management, and they use state repression to break the unions and any sort of move to seek worker benefits. It's better to keep the owners as owners, regulate them, have strong unions and by dividing government from the rich it's possible to keep both from abusing the proletariate as much as they like to do. This is the true recipe for 21st century socialism and not these autocracies and dictatorships, with single party oligarchies ruling us as if we were their slaves. Single party my behind, these guys have to be broken up into pieces!
