Viva La Revolucion!: South American Nations Back Maduro's Venezuelan Election Triumph

South American governments have moved quickly to back Venezuelan President-elect Nicolas Maduro, whose slim victory on Sunday is being disputed by the political opposition amid calls for a recount.

The Union of South American Nations, or Unasur, has released a statement expressing support for the results of the Venezuelan presidential election in which Socialist party candidate Maduro narrowly defeated opposition challenger Henrique Capriles Radonski with 51 percent of the vote.

“The Unasur electoral commission congratulates the Venezuelan people for the civic and democratic spirit demonstrated on the occasion of the election of April 14,” read the statement.

Capriles has refused to accept the electoral results without a recount, while the 12-member organization -- which includes the governments of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Paraguay, Suriname, Uruguay and Venezuela -- urged all parties to respect the outcome.

2. the revolution is dead, chavismo is dead

the government is going to have to actually serve the interests of the people instead of themselves. Venezuela cannot sustain the corruption and decay the've experienced over the past 14 years.

3. "Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Paraguay, Suriname, Uruguay

"Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Paraguay, Suriname, Uruguay and Venezuela"

He can take his little tail back to Honduras where the US will protect him after seizing that country in a coup though in Maduro's place I'd throw his butt in jail for attempts to incite an insurrection against the legal democratically elected government.

"Capriles is enemy of Latin American unity." Manuel Zelaya Rosales, President of Honduras, deposed in a US-backed coup d'etat on June 28 2009

“ Henrique Capriles es un enemigo de la unidad latinoamericana”— Manuel Zelaya Rosales, presidente de Honduras, derrocado por el golpe de Estado del 28 de junio del 2009 .
