Gavin Newsom

After watching the lieutenant governor of California introduced Hillary in her rally in San Jose, I've found the VP candidate for Hillary.

Ladies and gentlemen, with the handsome look, with the charm of the current VP Joe Biden, with the strong and coherent speech, the Irish Catholic Gavin Christopher Newsom is my candidate for Vice President.

and assuming he doesn't nominate Pope Francis as his VP, that might be managed.

The right wing would have some "fun" with that.

Does anyone think California is in play, against Trump? I though HRC OWNED that state.

The idea with the VP, to some extent, is to pick a (preferably large and delegate rich) state that could be flipped--like, say, Texas, and find someone of quality from within that delegation or political milieu.

Much better than he did eight years ago. He's got a bit more national experience under his belt.

And he's young, handsome, charming, nice family, and he's got a ready made body double in his brother!

He needs over seventy percent of the CA vote to make a weak argument for that "contested convention" he dreams about.

The primaries are a different animal than the general. The focus is different and much of the campaigning is done by surrogates--desirable surrogates, but surrogates nonetheless. HRC has some of the best "California surrogates" on the political stage of the era, from politicians to movie stars.

Same with another impressive and polished California Democrat, former LA mayor, Antonio Villaraigos.

Maybe that's not the kiss of death nowadays, look at Trump and his multiple affairs.

He ex-wife is now a fox news personality and he had an affair (after divorcing) with his campaign manager's wife. That being said, Trump is a thrice married man who has bragged about his affairs so that probably doesn't shake out to much.

Teddy Roosevelt was 42 when he took office after McKinley's assassination.

JFK was 43 when he was elected POTUS--assuming they're picking Julian to be the future of the party after 2 successful Hillary terms, he'd be 50 by the time he ran for POTUS.

Even the so-thought Democrat-leaning MSNBC. There is no one who is more womanizing than the current Republican nominee; yet not a single media has nailed him!

He would bring some pluses and some minuses. As Hillary said they are considering all kinds of people but she wants someone that is qualified, and able to step in as President. He meets that criteria, I have no doubt. The minuses might be less popularity for him in more purple states.
