...it doesn't call for exact numbers, just a wide range of values (i.e., investment of $0 - $10,000), and would be a snap if they were just updating last year's disclosure.

Now, if these people of simple means suddenly have a dramatic change over last year, that might take maybe 5-10 minutes longer.

Even so, it could have been done during that 19-hour round trip flight to Rome between naps.

My guess is that there is something that they would have to disclose that they don't want any of their followers to see until the last primary is over, conveniently a couple of weeks before the date of their requested extension.

BTW, who asks for "45-day" extensions, why not a 30-day extension?

in this race at all. He saw it as a way to "get in the game." After almost a life-time of avoiding real work, he sees politics as a way to earn a fair salary with some perks and a springboard to getting into the game of giving speeches for high fees and writing a few books for substantial income. He has stepchildren and grandchildren to provide for and I don't blame him for trying the best way he can. Once this election is over, TV appearances, book deals, and speaking circuit will provide him with all the money he will need...and he won't refuse to take any of it! As for their taxes, we know Bernie Sanders isn't good with numbers, but Jane was a college administrator and must be very familiar with financial documents. I'm guessing if they say they do their own taxes, they probably do.

My questions, strictly curiosity since it's being talked about, not important ones to me, are why (she's not one of those weirdos who like doing taxes is she? , and also, okay, why aren't they releasing?

We now know he planned to run for president for some time. Surely there wouldn't be anything but the kind of legal stuff enemies might nevertheless twist and puff up. The settlement the college made with Jane Sanders to get her to leave early? -- but that's already known. My guess is he's not releasing because of perhaps some minor hypocrisy to be revealed, and he doesn't have to for now.
