Four-star recruit Cassanova McKinzy had a tough decision to make on National Signing Day as the 6-foot-2 linebacker prospect had whittled down his choices to Auburn and Clemson, guaranteeing that whatever his choice, he would be playing for a team named the Tigers. In the end McKinzy went with Auburn over Clemson for all the usual reasons, plus one tasty, mouth watering, waffle fries related one.
Like a lot of folks, Cassanova loves him some Chick-fil-A, and Auburn just so happens to have one of the restaurants right there on campus, while Clemson does not (or so he thought), which weighed heavily in McKinzys decision process.
Said the Auburn signee
(It was) kind of the environment and plus they had no Chick-Fil-A on campus, McKinzy said of his decision to not attend Clemson. You had to go like, probably like 15 minutes off campus to go to like a real restaurant. Their café was kind of small.

So lack of Bigot-Fil-A is the reason for choosing college campuses now? I swear Idiocracy is becoming a reality more and more every day...

(135,425 posts)But I went down south a while ago, and I "had me some chik-fil-a" and I must say, it was delicious. An old friend who doesn't care for their bigoted attitude for very personal reasons, but who loves the food, took us there. He had the same attitude as a lot of people who frequent the place despite their politics--they make good food at good prices and provide good service.
The food is probably bad for you, and I wouldn't have it every day of the week even if there were one convenient to me, but I have to say that shit tastes good. Those people may not know what they're doing religiously, but they do know what they are doing when it comes to making some chicken!
I must also say, to be fair about my experience at the place, that the people working at the restaurant, from the greeters to the waitress to the manager, were very nice. They were kind of shocked when we mentioned that we'd heard about them on NPR (NPR did an interesting piece on them awhile back, that included the whole religious schtick).
I do understand that they have bigoted views, but if they could find a way to eschew those views, they'd likely develop a massive following based on their ability to cook tasty food and provide very responsive service at a very reasonable price.
