Oelwein man arrested for OWI while trying to get weapons permit

If you're going to the sheriff's office for any reason it's probably not a good idea to go intoxicated. Like this gentleman up in Fayette County, Iowa discovered.

Deputies say that Michael Eugene Modlin, 56, drove to the sheriff's office at around 4:25 p.m. on Wednesday to get a weapons permit. They say staff noticed that Modlin had been drinking.

He was arrested and charged with first offense operating while intoxicated.
