Mother Gives Birth On Toilet For Second Time
FERGUSON, MO (KTVI) – A Ferguson, Missouri, family says a newborn baby girl is lucky to be alive after being born in a toilet.
According to KTVI-TV in St. Louis, Dawana Jones says her sister called her on Thursday morning warning her something was wrong.
“She called me and said my water broke and I`m on the toilet,” said Jones.
Ferguson police say an officer arrived to the home on Dupree and helped pull the baby to safety. Jones says paramedics detached the umbilical cord.
The child and her mother were taken to an area hospital. They are expected to be released in a couple of days.
Jones said this wasn`t the first family member born on a toilet. She says her brother was born under the same circumstances.
“It`s not unusual for me to hear but she was lucky,” said Jones. “She was screaming, so she was healthy.”
