Last edited Mon Dec 24, 2012, 11:32 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) Christmas trees are my favorites, in the wild and in forests. The way they grow reminds me of this:
TREES by Joyce Kilmer (1886-1918) I think that I shall never see A poem lovely as a tree. A tree whose hungry mouth is prest Against the earth's sweet flowing breast; A tree that looks at God all day, And lifts her leafy arms to pray; A tree that may in Summer wear A nest of robins in her hair; Upon whose bosom snow has lain; Who intimately lives with rain. Poems are made by fools like me, But only God can make a tree. |

I had been thinking that it was my maternal grandmother's favorite song.. she took German in School and may have taught it..I'm a little sketchy on that part. Have to check with my sis on that. Random Christmas Treat from the White House Kitchen.. Gingerbread Style~ It’s Christmas Eve, what better time to share a little gingerbread delight? Here’s a time lapse of the creation of the gingerbread White House. While some of us (cough) just started baking cookies yesterday, the Pastry Chef Bill Yosses and his talented team “spent months planning, baking, building, and decorating the structure — which is made from more than 175 pounds of gingerbread and more than 50 pounds of chocolate.”
The 2012 holiday décor at the White House features a 300 pound representation of the President’s’ house made entirely from edible treats.
