that GITMO would be toast by now.
edit: Though I generally support President Obama, the issue of GITMO is important enough to continue to bring up.

(171,056 posts)is closing GITMO. President Obama did try, but still GITMO is open and a promise is left unfulfilled. I will never vote for a GOPer of the current ilk. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/26/us/politics/26gitmo.html

(171,056 posts)The mission of the Barack Obama Group is to discuss information and news about the life, career, accomplishments, and presidency of Barack Obama; to provide a haven for those members of Democratic Underground who support the president and his policies; to discuss President Obama's policy positions, speeches, interviews, and other public appearances; to discuss President Obama's political campaigns; and to discuss the causes which President Obama has championed, including health care reform and ending the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Those who have a generally negative view of President Obama and his administration, support his defeat in the 2012 presidential election (in primaries or the general election), or who are generally supportive of those who do, are not welcome in the Barack Obama Group.

even though I do have a few specific policy issues that of a concern. I didn't mean to rain on the parade.
edit: President Obama is the obvious superior candidate for POTUS, but nobody deserves blind allegiance.

(121 posts)Generally the President gets driven around in the President-mobile, so the cartoon would reflect him sitting elsewhere in the car.
Not long ago he was at a GM plant checking out the new Chevy Volt, he remarked "In another 5 years, when I'm not President anymore, I'll buy one of these!"
