Got some bad news from Amazon Studios For BOG

Hey guys, Thursday I got some bad news. Amazon Studios passed on my television series idea, The Legend of Sheriff Coy Hunter despite getting some great feedback about the premise.

I have been encouraged to turn it into a series of short stories which is what I am going to do. I hope to get the first set of them published either by the end of the month or sometime next month. I must admit that getting rejected made me a little bummed out. To be so close to achieving my dream and to have it yanked away from me.

But, to know that I can still get the story out via Amazon Kindle encourages me. I am asking my friends and family here in the BOG and in Democratic Underground in general to please send me your thoughts and prayers as some days I have felt like giving up on my dream. I love you all and I miss you.

As a writer, I can well relate to the feeling rejection brings. But congrats on being close to publishing that series of short stories, and do not give up your dream. I know an author who writes books and novellas about a sheriff in Wyoming, which were picked up by a TV network, ran for three seasons before said network pulled the plug on their most successful series. Go figure! Anyway, Netflix stepped in and the new episodes begin this fall. Guess I'm sayin', your sheriff stories sound most intriguing and I have a feeling there would be a large audience of viewers who would agree. The Writer's Journey, as I call it, can include a lot of rides down bumpy roads, but the destination is well worth it. Let us know when you're published--we DUers support, encourage, and love you, and look forward to the many good reads you'll share with us.

Blessings.

I so sorry about the rejection, CR. I know that hurt. However the series of short stories sounds like a fabulous idea. I will be waiting to read them.

You are in my thoughts and I will send along some good vibes. I miss you too, CR. Never give up on your dream, never.

Your friend, sheshe2

I had a premise for a series called "Brownsville" it involved turn of the 20th century Harvard law student turn deputy in a border town with dueling bounty hunters fighing for bounties across the border. Been with me since 1980.
