What does it mean when the keyboard and mouse are s-l-o-w...? ....

Clicks and keystrokes stack up with no action, then they all come at once.

Using a mac mini... doesn't have a lot of crap on it.

I've attributed it to the Internet connection, or to one site in particular. Doesn't seem to be the pad itself.

Determining exactly when it happens might help you track down the cause. Also, make sure your batteries are good in mouse and/or keyboard.
