I like Logitech products. In particular I have the Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920. I've been very happy with it. Easy to use. Works great with Skype. Nice quality video.

has a built in mic. So no extra software is needed (other than the Logitech drivers/software) for Skype.

I like Logitech's webcams as well, but I have seen anything in their packaged software to record Skype calls for archival purposes while not doing an entire screen capture.
