Does anyone know what "jusched.exe" is? What type of program

If it is benign or harmful?

That is all, and thank you.

1. Benign.

It's a little program that runs in the background and checks for Java updates, which is a good thing.

3. Okay, thanks for that. But why would it stall out,

With me getting a dialogue box that that stall is happening, and then nothing else can happen on the other computer. (The one I am typing on right now is newer and is fine.)

It also appears that the "SpyDoctor/PC Tool" scanning for malicious stuff has been disabled, and spouse states he ahs not disabled it.

4. Could be any number of reasons.

What I would recommend:

- Go to Control Panel, Uninstall a Program (or Add/Remove Programs if you are still on XP)
- Uninstall ALL items that have "Java" in the name
- Navigate to "C:\Program Files" (Or "C:\Program Files (x86)" if it exists)
- Rename the "Java" folder to "Java.old" or just delete it.
- Reboot
- Go to http://www.java.com and install the latest version of Java

That should get Java and jusched.exe back to normal.

With regards to SpyDoctor, I'm not familiar with that app. I strongly encourage my friends and family to use Microsoft Security Essentials. It's free, and it works well. You might want to uninstall SpyDoctor and use MSE instead.

5. I'm copying yr reply to my HD for future

Use. Hopefully won't be needed.

Much appreciate your help.
The spouse found that the fan was not working. It took two cups of coffee and one long walk for him to figure it out. But now that fan is working okay, so are all the programs.
