I don't want Windows 10.
How do I get rid of that little icon, or do I have to let it sit there for a year

(4,482 posts)I went to the control panel and hid the icon, then changed from automatic updates.
I am not using a touch screen computer, so I don't want Windows 10.

(48,181 posts)Win10 is a free upgrade and after you install win10 all future windows releases will just be updates to win10. There is no win11. Win10 provides an excellent keyboard/mouse interface, including a completely redesigned start button that brings back most of the win7 functionality while integrating with the win8 "store" style apps. Plus it brings a lot of new features that work quite well with a mouse interface - workspaces for example, that let you set up applications on multiple virtual desktops that you can switch between with a simple keyboard shortcut.
I'd take them up on the offer. Win10 is looking pretty good.

(4,482 posts)It wasn't among the Windows program files or in the download folder. There were other KB numbers, but not that one.
