Ad blocker for Firefox?

I used one of Firefox's ad blockers for many years, but after the latest Firefox update, it was incompatible. I've tried several others on the Firefox website, but they're not nearly as effective as the old one. Any suggestions for an ad blocker on Firefox that's effective? Thanks

I tried that one earlier today and it makes my Firefox hang. It says it's not responding, and it just won't load websites. When I disable it, Firefox works fine. I'm so frustrated.

I prefer adblockplus but gave this one a try a while back. It might be worth a quick try. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/adblock-edge/

Alternatively, you could get an addon that disables compatibility checks. I haven't used this one but if the reason you had to give up your usual adblocker was a compatibility check then this might work for you. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-Us/firefox/addon/checkcompatibility/

I use both Ad-Block and Ghostery.
Ghostery gets rid of cookies and scripts, sometimes I have to turn it off to download a video.

"...after the latest Firefox update, it was incompatible."

That happened one too many times for me.

but at least I know what to do now. I use Chrome on my tablet, but I prefer Firefox for my laptop.

I was able to get the original ad block plus to work - I refreshed Firefox and all is well. For now Thanks
