My computer has been invaded. I like to have Mozilla Firefox with Google as my search engine.

Yesterday some program installed ask.com for my search engine. I got rid of that and then yahoo.com forced itself on me.

I tried to make Firefox and Google my default browser (via Internet Explorer) this morning but yahoo is back.

How do I change to Mozilla Firefox and Google. I do not understand how the internet works or what is going on. Most of the technical webpages and help instructions are way beyond me.

I really cannot stand the yahoo search engine. Ask.com was even worse.

Any suggestions?

My husband tried to fix it, but even he could not do it.

hidden checkboxes (or nearly hidden) asking if you want Ask.com and changing your default browser and crap like that. That doesn't help you now but in the future always proceed slowly through those install screens and read carefully so it doesn't happen again.

But... start by Googling "how to remove ask.com" for some good ideas.

Sorry you're having this problem. I've done it, too. Probably everyone has in the past has at some point.

it downloads the current version of programs, and automatically unchecks all those little boxes.

Rumor has it that the current version of FF changed its default search from Google to Yahoo.
