Okay, you know when google and your browser seems to remember everything you type?

Like, I'll type "The" when I'm signing onto DU and up comes "The Backlash Cometh"?

Well, what if I don't want the computer to be that helpful? Anyone know how to suppress this feature? I've already explored Firefox and checked all the boxes I thought applied, but it's still doing it.

Autocomplete.

If you can find it, then you can uncheck it.

I just tried finding it in Win 7, but couldn't.

I'll dig around and hopefully find it for you.

and it won't remember anything you've browsed. It should be under Tools -> Start Private Browsing. Here's a link http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Private%20Browsing#w_how-do-i-turn-on-private-browsing

If you're talking about Google search specifically, that's built into Google's server side code, they're spying on you That's Google Instant, it's supposed to help you search quicker and easier. Lots of good information. I went into Firefox and managed to make the right selection. Only don't ask me what I did right, because I don't have a clue.

You can delete fill ins. I always do this for my user name at my bank. Type the first letter. When you get the drop down showing options to fill in, move the mouse over it and use the delete key on the keyboard. I use this approach because I want some of the fields to populate, and I can remove those I do not.
