Strange Windows Live Mail issue

OS is Windows 7, desktop PC that is used only by me.

I opened Windows Live Mail and notice the inbox unread email counts kept growing and growing ( on all identities ) until stopping at some huge number: All my deleted items somehow found their way back into my inbox, with no action on my part, other than me opening WLM. It was a real chore re-deleting 300+ emails, while saving the ones I wanted. I then deleted the deleted item folders on all identities.

Anyone ever heard of this happening before?

Outlook Client, Phone, iPad, Android tablet?
One of these may be configured to sync differently than the others, and causing the inbox contents to be re-uploaded on occasion.

Are you syncing/forwarding your Live inbox with another email provider, such as Google?

At least to my knowledge. I use Chrome as a browser, but don't sych anything. Any way this could be done without my knowledge?

Funny thing is that not only did the deleted emails appear in my inbox, but they showed as unread as well.

Thanks for the reply.

That may give you a hit if it is your PC settings or something else at work...
They should all be from YOUR PC only.

A couple of times last year they reloaded the email servers and all the old emails showed back up in my Inbox. The first time it was six months worth, the second, it was three months worth. I still have not deleted all the duplicates, though I have tried. I did call the ISP tech support to ask about the situation, and they told me about the server problem.

It sounds very similar to your problem.

It would have to be since those emails that reappeared were already "permanently" deleted by me. I'd say that points to a server issue rather than a PC issue.

But deleting dozens of emails I'd already dealt with is a hassle!
