(164 posts)i'm beginging to think that the sale of Toilet Duck and Brasso should be restricted, like the sale of, erm... weapons grade plutonium.
amusing times ahead - going by the events of the last few weeks not only will half the shadow cabinet be publicly calling Corbyn an idiot, but all these other charactors will as well. apperently, they have the right to speak from the dispatch box in HoC. that should be funny to watch - as will Corbyns attempt to impose voting discipline, given his own less that entirely loyal voting record... more than 500 times you voted against the Labour governments of Blair and Brown, didn't you Jezzah?
* my Schadenfreude is not party political. i enjoy all private grief when it comes to politicians, regardless of whether i might consider voting for them or not...

(41,205 posts)Rebellions on the issues, that is; not the constant personal infighting that seems to characterize the Labour Party whenever it suffers a defeat by the Tories.
The lack of independence among MPs has always been a problem in our system; as Gilbert and Sullivan pointed out in the 19th century:
When in that House MP's divide,
If they've got a brain and a cerebellum too,
They have to leave that brain outside
And vote just as their leaders tell 'em to!
If an MP rebels against the leadership for genuine reasons of policy, then that's actually what I want from an MP. It's people like Simon Danczuk acting like spoiled toddlers out of personal spite I have issues with.
I should also mention at this point that the recent election of my local Labour MP to the post of deputy speaker in Parliament has much more of an impact on whether or not I support Labour than the election of Jeremy Corbyn as party leader. I doubt that our resident troll will be able to understand or appreciate this point but there you go.

(7,230 posts)and idly wondering whether this group needs a host (we seem to rub along together just fine without most of the time, and I'm certainly not volunteering), Christ this schtick gets old damn quickly.
We've managed to hang a few fairly interesting discussions off this lame circus act, but by gum, constant rhetorical trolling declarations with almost complete lack of engagement thereafter would have earned a lock, block, tombstone or automatic widespread ridicule elsewhere on DU long ago.
If you're at a loose end enough to look up the OP's online history, being booted off boards where defence issues in particular are discussed and similar antics are a habit seems to be some sort of career.
Don't feed, unless you're desperate for low-grade entertainment. I'm not, as "Pappano's Classical Voices - Soprano" is proving a surprisingly welcome delight on BBC Four (as an alternative if you don't have Freeview or iPlayer, paint something and watch it dry) , but here I am anyway.
And now I'm out ...
