... before, it's because the corporate overlords bought every newspaper, TV and radio station in the State, bussed in astroturfers, tried to intimidate our activists and spent a gazillion dollars convincing the uninformed that recalls were a bad idea and Walker was a savior anyway long before we even finished the primary to determine who would represent our side.

Despite that edge, it was close. Despite a well-organized State-wide effort to recount the vote manually, we still don't know how close because only 71 of the State's 72 Counties have provided the legally mandated access to the ballots. One large, red County remains a holdout.

I feel for all the people who tried to recall Walker. They do not deserve this. But question: What happened to the Republicans losing the majority in the state senate? They had one reasonable member who often voted with the Democrats. At least, that's what John Nichols said at the time. What happened after that?

In the last election, statewide, many more votes went to Democrats. But a lot of those votes went to giving excessively large winning margins to fewer elected candidates.

One Democratic Senator from the north woods area who survived their recall attempt decided to retire. He was replaced by a class A wingnut..that's the race I was most familiar with...

I think there was another Senate loss in the southeastern(?) part of the state...

Scuba...can you help me on that one?

Jim Holperin was the Dem Senator who retired. I was surprised we lost his seat.

I fully expected this. Actually I expect a 'personhood amendment'.
