Walker did something right.

I don't know if it was his idea or whose it was, but the way they changed vehicle emissions testing was good. We just took our two cars in to a local garage yesterday and today, and there was no waiting in a long, long line like at the emissions station. Just handed over the keys and waited five minutes, and a friendly guy did the rest, handed us our papers and we were out in no time both times. They included a $10 off coupon for any future work we might want on our cars, but no sales pressure.

So I have to say, this was a good idea.

1. I don't understand this post

Why does the fact that you got quick service from a friendly person somehow relate to Walker?
What changes were made to the way vehicle emissions testing is done?

Not trying to be critical, just trying to figure out how your thread title relates to your comments.

2. since they have closed the emissions testing stations.

We now have to go to one of a number of private car repair places to get it done. I guess I didn't make that clear, sorry.

3. Did it correctly?

As long as they do it correctly instead of checking a box and calling it good. I learned that the hard way when I ran out of transmission fluid on the road even though my oil change 4 days prior had that box checked off as okay.

5. I think so.

I watched through the window--the guy was looking at a computer screen next to the car, etc.
