Glen Grothman interview- 11 minutes of crazy talk
Is he drunk or is it just his arrogance that makes him sound that way? Sly does a good interview with Grothman. I started listening and couldn't stop- what a fascinating man...
Republican Glenn Grothman (R-West Bend) handily defeated his Democratic opponent, Tanya Lohr, in last week’s election, but apparently it wasn’t easy. Grothman took to the airwaves Thursday morning to talk about “the special interests” he was up against, including, um, the New World Order. Grothman also claimed that President Obama and Tammy Baldwin probably won their elections due to fraud, and that eventually he’s “going to have to lay down the gauntlet” on the people who enforce Obamacare. Seriously.

1. No, Glenn doesn't need to be drunk to sound crazy, and eleven minutes is nothing to him...
|
... Glenn can talk for hours without making any sense. Republicans here in Senate District 20 will vote for their party no matter how crazy.
Interesting that Glenn describes Tanya's base, working families, as "special interests". I worked on her campaign with several other volunteers and saw no hint of support from unions or anybody else (read: DPW). |

5. I thought he was amused more than cordial
|
And he did laugh dismissively at almost everything Grothman said, which Grothman seemed to enjoy. Very odd.

6. Speaking of hanging out at the bar with Grothman
|
I did just that on Saturday, when a couple of us spotted him walking near the bar where a bunch of us were hanging out. I pulled him in to the bar and sat and talked with him for about 45 minutes. I can't talk to him about much, but I hammered on him about some election issues.
He was incredibly dorky looking in his Badger jersey. As much as I can't stand anything he stands for, he IS in the party that is in power, and if I can get him to budge on any tiny issue, it will be an enormous victory for me. I actually was not very proud of a couple of other people in the bar who interrupted our conversation in order to tell him to leave. |
