the polar plunge that is.....cold, cold, cold weather was the star of the this years polar plunge, and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke went all in to show her support and her "balls" (my word) to prove she's worthy. I thought she could have raised a tad more money then just 500.00.

(29,611 posts)the newspaper and the other local television station didn't even mention she was doing it...... I think it was pretty cool, (no pun intended) of her to even do the plunge.

(18,964 posts)Seeing all the attack ads running daily....suspect they are already having some effect...
When you see the ad saying her family company "shipped jobs to China"...it resonates....with OUR base.

(70,056 posts)ads also. so many of them. I seldom look who is sponsoring them. I want Burke to win and I will be one the boots on the ground. What I find hard is getting fired when I see/hear posts like this. We really all need to get Burke elected or put up with Walker again. I really do not think Wisconsin and its land, air water, --and its people can afford him again 4 years.

(8,879 posts)hole in the base's enthusiasm balloon. The WI Democratic Party leadership needs to remove the head from the ass. If they run a real alternative candidate with a real vision we might actually move people to vote. I'm convinced that both official parties are to blame for moving the center to the right and Mary Burke as the gubernatorial candidate is prime evidence for that argument. I'll hold my nose and vote for her, and when it comes down to it, I'll try to convince my friends to vote for her as well, but I'm going to feel a little bit dirty doing it knowing my heart just isn't in it for her. Sorry.

(18,964 posts)The base needs inspiration and the spirit of the fight against Act 10 and all that Walker and his gang stand for..
We DO need to be inspired.....and a "Walker-lite" isn't going to bring the masses to the polls...
