Boeing Airplanes CEO: No more engineering jobs leaving Washington state

Yes and the check's in the mail.

Washington state is projected to have 8 percent fewer aerospace jobs by 2020, but Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO Ray Conner said that won't be because the company sends jobs out of state.

Conner spoke in a rare interview with the Seattle Times, and defended Boeing (NYSE: BA) against accusations it has taken a hard line with unions and held Washington jobs hostage. The Machinists, for example, agreed to massive reductions in pension benefits in exchange for Boeing building the new 777X in Everett.

He reportedly admitted the company's decision to transfer 6,000 engineering jobs out of state was handled poorly, but said Boeing's new facility in Everett was creating hundreds of jobs.

moving to a rabid anti-union state like SC has proven to be a cluster fuck. The labor pool is unskilled, they are bleeding talent. The people that they brought in from out of state to train and manage are quitting because of the conditions.

It is costing them more to build their planes. SC workers have not been trained properly and the planes need to be fixed when they get to Washington, before they can finish them. IOW they are paying twice to get the same work done.
